General Information: 2D Gamemodes

Gimkit has a variety of game modes, from farming to sports. This page will give information surrounding each one.

Capture the Flag

Protect your flag, capture theirs
Two Teams
Capture the flag is a classic and fun game mode. There are two teams; Echo and Vortex, and they try to steal each others' flag.

Everyone answers questions to earn energy.

Both teams can also explore the map and purchase a variety of upgrades.

One Way Out

Escape the ship!
Encourages Cooperation Combat Based Allows for a Lot of Strategy Has Secrets/Side Missions
One Way Out is a game mode where players work as a team to escape their space ship; The Alphastar. Players knock out plants to earn money, and answer questions to earn energy.

There are 3 levels and two checkpoints. Once someone has enough money, they can purchase a new weapon, or unlock a "bridge" (a teleporter back to the main lobby). Once a bridge is purchased, a teleporter back to a checkpoint can be purchased as well.

The game ends when every player escapes through the hatch at the end of Level 3.

Snowbrawl

Ready, set, SNOW!
Free-for-all Combat Based Simple
Players can answer questions to earn snowballs, which they can shoot at other players. If a player gets hit too many times, they respawn and the player who hit them last gets a knockout point.

There is a wide variety of hiding spots, such as trees, snow piles and snow-covered log piles. Some hiding spots are very compact, wheras others are almost the right size to hide behind, but still too small.

Lastly, someone can win by scoring the highest knockout points in an amount of time set by the game host.

Blastball is a simple soccer-themed game mode. There are two teams, Gimchester United and Kitcelona.

Don't Look Down

Climb your way to the top!
Free-for-all Platformer
There are 6 summits, each one getting progressively harder than the last. Players can race to the top, and when someone completes the game, it ends.

Dig it Up

Mine & climb to save the mayor of Diggsburg
Free-for-all Platformer
Mine up new and unique terrain, from dirt to diamond! First players dig down, then they build to the top and try to reach Mayor Cole (yes, he's a rock too...).

Knockback

Brace for impact as you try not to get knocked off the map!
Free-for-all Combat Based Platformer
Players try to blast each other off of platforms with Pixelators.

General Information

Gimkit Creative is a feature in Gimkit "where you can build your very own game modes, maps, & worlds!" (part of a message shown when a player acceses the Gimkit Creative page). Creative consists of two parts: Build and Discovery. The Build feature is where players can use a visual editor to create their own game modes, maps, and worlds. The Discovery feature is where players can find and share games.
